One of our most fun and popular hikes!
Starting at Sam's Point Conservation Center, we will hike along carriage roads to the chilling tectonic ice caves. After exploring the caves and surrounding area we will take a small break before hopping on a rocky single-track trail through the pine barrens. This area in the park is known as one of best examples of a ridge-top pine barrens in the world! Along the ridge we will have spectacular views to the south, surrounded by huckleberry, blueberry and dwarf pines along the way. As we enter into the valley the forest becomes thicker and the trails will get tighter until we enter into a beautiful fern forest just before Verkeerderkill Falls. We will enjoy lunch at this truly unique and spectacular waterfall. After lunch, we will head back the way we came and finish the hike with some awe-inspiring views at Sam's Point.

Hiking and weather appropriate clothing (avoid cotton!), hiking boots highly recommended. We have seen some twisted ankles that could have been avoided with good footwear. Sunglasses, and a hat are musts, too!
